College of DuPage
Performance Potential Program (p3)
Build mental skills that support focus, confidence, resilience, and consistent performance.
The PsychEdge Performance Potential Program (P3) is a multi-week mental skills curriculum designed to help students and performers at the College of DuPage strengthen the mental side of performance, whether in academics, athletics, leadership, or high-pressure personal goals.
Performance isn’t just about talent or effort. It’s about how well someone manages focus, pressure, emotions, setbacks, and self-talk when it matters most. This program teaches practical, trainable mental skills that help participants stay grounded, adaptable, and confident in demanding environments.
Through a progressive, evidence-based framework, participants learn how to:
-
Build awareness and emotional regulation under pressure
-
Set meaningful goals and stay motivated through change
-
Manage self-talk and develop stable confidence
-
Respond to stress instead of reacting emotionally
-
Recover quickly from mistakes, setbacks, or disruptions
-
Strengthen focus, visualization, and flow for consistent performance
The program is organized into five integrated modules that build upon one another:
-
Mindfulness, Breathing & Awareness – Build the foundation for calm, focus, and consistency under pressure.
-
Goals, Motivation & Direction (SMARTER) – Stay focused, motivated, and adaptable, no matter what changes.
-
Self-Talk, Confidence & Mindset – Create confidence that holds, even when things don’t go perfectly.
-
Emotional Intelligence & Resilience – Manage emotions, respond to stress, and bounce back stronger.
-
Focus, Visualization & Flow – Prepare the mind for consistency, confidence, and peak moments.
Rather than relying on motivation alone, PsychEdge emphasizes repeatable mental systems, skills participants can practice daily and apply across multiple areas of life. The result is improved confidence, emotional steadiness, and the ability to perform with clarity even when pressure increases.
This program supports the College of DuPage’s commitment to student development by equipping participants with mental tools that extend beyond the classroom, skills that enhance learning, leadership, and long-term personal success.
