My dream is for the norm to be that Sport and Performance Psychology Consultants are side by side coaches, teams, in schools, universities, within companies, and beside more and more individuals. This is something for EVERYONE! I wish I had someone like myself to talk to and teach me sport and performance psychology tools to apply to sport, piano, vocal performances and everyday life. I absolutely love what I do and that fuels my passion with every client, company and team I can help.
My Story
My name is Sarah Greene-Falk, owner of PsychEdge. I have been a coach and counselor who specializes in Sports and Performance Psychology for almost 20 years.
I hold two master’s degrees and am a seasoned professional. Unlike most sports psychology professionals, I have a Master’s in Kinesiology—specializing in Sports and Performance Psychology—in addition to a Master’s in Counseling. My background provides clients with the benefits of my knowledge and experience in both fields. I have also worked my way through college and graduate school as a physical therapy tech & assistant, teaching anatomy, licensed and certified massage therapist, and certified personal trainer.
I have vast knowledge and experience with the mind-body-energy connection. Therefore, I work well with understanding doctors, injuries, and protocols to help advise clients’ directions of questioning other professionals and advocate for their care.
I have worked with all levels of competition from Olympians to collegiate athletes, and coaches, in most every sport. Clients learn skills to self-manage their emotions to enhance consistent high performance; decrease anxiety and increase confidence and resilience. Check out my testimonials.
My experience in employee assistance has given me the opportunity to work with C-level executives, specifically self-managing emotions, emotional intelligence, conflict management, and motivation.
I have a passion for all sports and still participate in sprint triathlons. I’m also a former swimming coach, a member of my local master’s swim team, as well as the parent of an athlete.
I wish I had someone like me to talk to when I was a student-athlete. I know it would have been incredibly beneficial. I understand the physical and psychological, tending to mind-body-energy connections for effective and efficient growth.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago as a well-rounded athlete in cross country, basketball, track, swimming and softball, while also playing piano, participating in show choir and vocal competitions. I swam Varsity as a Freshman in High School contributing to the school record board. I’ve been fortunate enough to live in Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado, Tennessee and used my ‘professional student’ status to travel. Currently, I live in Naperville, IL with my husband, our son, and 2 step children. I enjoy swimming, biking, weight lifting, sprint triathlons, being in nature, hiking, traveling, podcasts and reading research. I use the tools and mindsets that I deliver to my clients, so I will never stop growing as a person and consistently strive for overall health and daily happiness.
I am an active listener and understand clients’ perspectives to help them get where they want to go. I genuinely want to help my clients achieve their goals, remove barriers, and overall be healthier and happier in sports, career, and life. It is important to me to continue education, research, and networking to always provide the very best of resources and myself to my clients.
