BUILDING CONFIDENCE

Confidence is a primary concern for most all and it is something we are always working on. Confidence can go up and down with multiple variables and it’s important for us to be mindful of when that happens so we can better prepare ourselves for those moments.


Here are 5 ways to help you build confidence.





1. Don’t let opportunities pass you by!

Don’t let confidence opportunities pass you by! Accept and acknowledge compliments. If someone has the motivation to come forward and compliment you, that is a big deal! How would you feel if someone disregarded a compliment you worked yourself up to tell someone? Write down compliments and store them in your phone to remember and mentally rehearse when you need a boost.


2. Focus on Daily Goals.

Focus on the daily and weekly goals to feel good about the little accomplishments. The process is most important and without it, we can’t reach the big goals. Each day, reflect on 3 things you’re proud of yourself for, even if you expect it of yourself. Life is not easy so give yourself credit!


3.  Stack Small Goals to Internalize

When we stack our small accomplishments, we are showing and proving to ourselves that we are competent. When we allow ourselves to feel good about that, we are celebrating the small wins. Have faith in the process of your goals path and use daily perseverance to succeed. Our self-worth should not be based on our performance.


4.  Live in the Gray.

All-or-nothing thinking kills confidence. When we give ourselves partial credit and attempts, especially considering changes and things out of our control, it matters a lot!


5. Treat Yourself Like a Friend

We are our own worst critic, so give yourself a break! Self-compassion is being more kind and fair to ourselves and not holding ourselves to irrational and unrealistic expectations.
